On the 8th February 2007 Surfachem were appointed as the official UK and Ireland distributor for Sheffield™ Pharma Ingredients. Sheffield™ Pharma Ingredients are a leading manufacturer of pharmaceutical grade lactose.

Both monohydrate and anhydrous forms of lactose are produced at a fully compliant FDA registered drug establishment in Norwich, NY. Sheffield has also recently acquired the Foremost brand of lactose resulting in a fully comprehensive range of products from two manufacturing sites allowing full contingency planning.

Surfachem are delighted to be able to offer such a high quality grade of lactose to the UK and Irish pharmaceutical markets. These products fit perfectly with the Carbopol ® controlled release agents for solid dose pharmaceuticals that Surfachem distribute on behalf of Lubrizol Advanced Materials.
